I have never been a sporting person. I very rarely watch sport on the telly unless it is a patriotic big occasion.

However, I am an Olympic convert. I have not moved from the telly over the weekend. I now want to take up road cycle racing, swimming, diving, dressage and the list goes on, although I do draw a line at the sports where you get thrown to the floor by over large ladies.

I have so loved watching all of these and am recording today's events for an olympic fest this evening, although there is so much live to watch tonight I may be torn.

Maybe it is the patriotic thing. The chances of me taking up any of these sports is obviously nil, but I think it is going to so inspire the younger generations.

I never, never thought I would say "I like sport"

What do you think?

How about getting thrown to the floor by large men, though, Jackie?! They would then bring you round with the kiss of life? xxxx

Hi Jackie, like you I am not a sporty person at all, in spite of living with an obsolute sports fanatic, of a passive kind that is!
However I have always enjoyed the olympics but this year is extra, extra special isn't it?
I'm loving it, seeing other people making the most of their brilliant varying talents.
Two silvers and two bronze so far! but I even feel excited seeing the less obvious countries win, and the unexpected.
Loved the opening ceremony too, a brill job!
Anyway must get back to more imp matters...... Zena x

Our household are loving the equestrian stuff - with 3 daughters mad keen on ponies, we've been glued to the screen, and even managed to get tickets to see the cross country at Greenwich - it was really wonderful. The organisation was awesome - it seemed that every detail was taken care of and even with 80,000 people there the queues were pretty manageable. I definitely feel inspired to get involved in something sporty!!
